Job Summary

A healthcare services company has an open position for a Remote Medical Coder.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Reviewing inpatient charts to determine all diagnoses/procedure codes and accurate assignment of DRG
• Recognizing incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous documentation and initiating physician queries as appropriate
• Abstracting required elements including discharge dispositions

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• 2+ years working as a Medical Coder
• Successful completion of a coding certificate program in a program with AHIMA or AAPC approval status
• Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding principles and applications
• Thorough knowledge of Official Coding Guidelines and payer specific requirements
• Ability to read, decipher and analyze all aspects of medical record documentation for accurate coding
• Ability to effectively utilize computerized encoder and/or other reference guides on-line
