Job Summary

A nonprofit healthcare organization is filling a position for a Remote Medical Coder.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

  • Reviewing the medical record, super bill, and/or charge sheet
  • Identifying and assigning CPT-4 codes to all outpatient procedures
  • Providing information on specific problem accounts to the Coding Supervisor

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Health Information Technology
  • 1 year of experience in hospital and/or physician practice outpatient coding
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, coding guidelines, and computers
  • Proven detail orientation and good problem-solving related to coding
