Job Summary

A nonprofit network of hospitals, clinics, and home care services is seeking a Remote Medical Coder II in Des Moines.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Assigning codes for all diagnoses, treatments, and procedures according to the appropriate classification system
• Coding Complex cases (excluding OP ancillary/series)
• Utilizing technical coding principles and MS-DRG and APC reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate ICD-10 diagnoses

Skills and Requirements Include:

• Completion of nationally recognized Coding Program (AHIMA/AAPC)
• At least 3 years of progressive on-the-job experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to code Complex coding. (EXCLUDES Outpatient Ancillary/Series)
• 2-year Health Information Technology Program preferred
• Certifications (at least one): RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC/CPC, CCA
