Job Summary
A single-specialty health management services organization has an open position for a Remote Medical Coder in Norfolk.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Assisting the Compliance Manager in proactive audits of medical charts and records
- Providing second-level review of billing performances
- Providing technical support to medical providers
Qualifications for this position include:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- 5 years’ experience as a biller, collector, coder, or back office support staff
- Knowledge of auditing concepts and principles
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and policy compliance issues related to medical coding
- Detailed knowledge of medical coding systems
- Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information
