Job Summary
A not-for-profit health system is filling a position for a Remote Medical Coder in Tarzana.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Applying appropriate ICD10-CM and CPT 4 code sets to discharged inpatient and outpatient medical record documentation
- Abstracting pertinent information from the electronic health record
- Substantiating optimal assignment of codes for reimbursement and outcomes analysis
Qualifications for this position include:
- Current RHIA, RHIT, CCS or any combination thereof
- AHIMA approved coding certificate program for those who do not have the RHIA, RHIT certification
- High School or equivalent preferred
