Job Summary
Supporting physician practices and coding teams, the full-time Remote Medical Coding Educator will develop training materials, conduct educational sessions, and assess the coding competencies of staff while working remotely across various states.
Key responsibilities
- Develops and coordinates training programs for new hires and existing staff, focusing on coding and documentation standards
- Assesses skills and competencies, providing ongoing education and support to ensure compliance with coding regulations
- Maintains educational materials and records, while supporting trainees and troubleshooting issues with health information management systems
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field
- Active certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) also acceptable with relevant experience
- Three or more years of work experience in healthcare information management
- Demonstrated education and training skills, with knowledge of medical terminology and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in common office and presentation software, along with advanced knowledge of healthcare applications
