Job Summary
A medical coding and transcription services provider is seeking a Remote Medical Coding Outpatient Quality Assurance Specialist.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Performing outpatient coding quality audits as directed by the Coding Manager
- Reviewing coding for all accounts selected for outpatient quality review (SDS, OBS, ED, Ancillary, etc)
- Alerting Coding Manager to trends and/or consistent issues identified in audit process.
Skills and Requirements Include:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of a formally recognized coding program
- Certified Coding Specialist, or Registered Health Information Technician, or Registered Health Information Administrator
- Or other AHIMA or AAPC approved coding credential
- Minimum of five years’ experience with all aspects of outpatient coding
- Coding fluency in outpatient surgery, Observation, Emergency Department, Interventional Radiology and Injections and Infusion
