Job Summary

An IT solutions provider is in need of a Remote Medical Coding Policy Specialist in Madison.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Assist with correct coding for service authorization policy
• Provide assistance with research for adjudicating member fair hearings and provider appeals
• Prepare policy statements and recommendations for complex coding changes

Required Skills:

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or medical coding credential through AAPC or AHIMA
• Knowledge of federal Medicaid statutes and regulations, Wisconsin statutes, and Wisconsin Administrative Code
• Knowledge of code assignments for reimbursements in the healthcare billing process, including healthcare claims submission, processing, and payment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently, under general supervision, and to exercise good judgment
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
