Remote Medical Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Performing collection activities for assigned accounts, the full-time Remote Medical Collections Specialist will contact insurance companies to resolve payment issues and maintain accurate collection files within the accounts receivable system.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct collection activities by contacting insurance representatives to address payment discrepancies and penalties
• Maintain detailed collection files and enter pertinent information into the accounts receivable system for follow-up
• Process accounts for write-off and legal actions, ensuring accurate calculations based on Managed Care contracts

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in medical collections
• Knowledge of CPT codes and Managed Care contracts
• Experience with accounts receivable systems and data entry
• Ability to prepare legal documents for uncollectable accounts
