Remote Medical Records Technician

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Remote Medical Records Technician - Release of Information (ROI).

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate ROI requests for completeness and compliance
• Process disclosures using VA tools and maintain accurate logs in eROI+
• Coordinate with various departments and escalate questionable requests as needed

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of full-time ROI experience in a medical setting or equivalent HIM functions
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Privacy Act, and VHA ROI policies
• Experience with VA systems preferred or ability to learn quickly
• Ability to handle sensitive records and apply minimum necessary disclosure rules
• Must complete VA-required background/security processes prior to access
