Job Summary
A farmer-owned agriculture and food cooperative has an open position for a Remote Microbiologist Lead Research Scientist in Gray Summit.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Providing specialized microbiological insights to projects related to the microbiome
- Completing and reporting on experiments and analytical testing
- Designing experiments and set up and guiding the use of bioreactors for screening technologies
Qualifications for this position include:
- Undertake laboratory-based tasks and build a small team to support these tasks
- Advanced degree in microbiology/microbiome or related field
- Strong understanding of the microbiome, bioinformatics, data interpretation and presentation
- Basic understanding of animal agriculture
- Experience in the use and set up of microbiological laboratory techniques
- Demonstrated experience working with microbiological cultures and use of aseptic techniques
