Job Summary
An online education company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote National Headline Editor and Writer.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Providing insight for clever angles that drives audience & news media, engagement, while helping us stand out in today’s cluttered news cycle
- Researching, brainstorming & pitching compelling story ideas, including viral and emerging trends
- Serving as a copy editor, reviewing materials from press releases and op-eds to social media posts and byline articles
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- 5+ years’ experience in a deadline writing environment
- Proficient writer, columnist, or editor with a history of expanding audience reach and points of view
- Track record of publishing content, headlines or social media that redefined a debate, shifted public opinion & drove audience engagement
- Proven track record of strong news judgment with the ability to craft concise, snappy, clickable headlines
- Experience reporting, interviewing, and working directly with new media, and internal / external subject matter experts
