Job Summary

A broadcast media company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote News and Traffic Reporter in Portland.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Writing and reporting news and traffic
  • Collaborating with show producers and the News Director on the news
  • Working a split shift 5 am to 9 am and 3 pm to 7 pm

Skills and Requirements Include:

  • 1 year of experience working in the newsroom of a small or medium market
  • 1 year of experience in news and traffic gathering information, writing, and reporting duties
  • Willing to learn all applicable FCC rules and regulations
  • Must be available to work on an as-needed basis and be available for breaking news
  • Ability to interact with the listening audience
  • Preferred proficiency in the use of audio editing software and remote broadcast equipment
