Job Summary
An institute for higher education is filling a position for a Remote Oncology Patient Access Service Access Nurse in Durham.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluating appropriate level of patient care, utilizing expert level clinical decision making to determine severity of illness for admissions
- Coordinating with patient, physicians, nursing and/or clinical staff when requirements of admission are not met/authorized
- Collecting accurate & viable patient insurance information & escalating all self-pay patients through appropriate financial screening
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- BSN Required
- 3 years of nursing experience
- R.N. licensure and North Carolina State Licensure required
- Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills, including phone etiquette
- Ability to establish good working relationships with associate departments
