Job Summary
The Operations Accounting Analyst is responsible for collaborating with the Operations teams to drive business results, assist in financial reporting, perform business analysis, and publish management reports to communicate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
Responsibilities:
Business Analysis:
Serves as financial business support to Director, Finance and leadership team.
Works with Director, Finance to standardize and improve site accounting, reporting and analysis.
Reviews continuous improvement cost savings and reviews return on investment calculations for capital expense authorization requests.
Prepares, reviews, and publishes daily operating metrics to monitor business performance.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Supports monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities as needed.
Supports preparation and reporting of end-of-month KPIs.
Works with Director, Finance to complete management requests and other reporting.
Manage the annual standard cost update process
Works with cross-functional groups to update new product standard costs as needed.
Reviews material, labor, and overhead variances with Operations team.
Ensure internal controls and accounting procedures are being adhered to within site operations.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Logistics Support:
Interface with 3PL's for accurate and timely data and cost forecasting
Schedule and track 3PL training and compliance audits for Customs and Duty enforcement
Forecast and manage logistical costs
Skills and Attributes:
Advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel. Proficient with Word and Power Point required
Knowledge of ERP systems required; Plex preferred
Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality mandatory due to the sensitive nature of information in area of responsibility
Prior logistical experience a plus
Strong communication skills for direct interaction with management & executive team
Education:
Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and or work experience required
