Job Summary

A Catholic, not-for-profit healthcare system has an open position for a Remote Outpatient Coder.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Resolving charging issues, denials, physician documentation clarifications, to ensure accurate billing and reduce denials
  • Assigning codes for diagnoses, treatments and procedures according to the ICD-10-CM and CPT Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting
  • Extracting and abstracting required information from source documentation

Qualifications for this position include:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) (AHIMA)
  • Able to work independently in a remote setting, with little supervision
  • Two(2) years of Outpatient coding in an acute care setting
