Remote Outpatient Medical Coder

Job Summary

A full-service health information management company is seeking a Remote Outpatient Medical Coder.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes for multiple outpatient accounts
• Review physician documentation and coding for appropriateness and accuracy in accordance with coding guidelines
• Review and analyze medical records for accurate code selection

Qualifications Include:

• CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification
• Minimum of three years of Outpatient (OP) coding experience
• Proficiency coding Same-Day Surgery/SDS and Observations
• Academic Medical Center/Trauma Center experience
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations
