Job Summary

A healthcare consulting and services company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Outpatient Observation Coder.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate coding of the clinically documented care within medical records
• Utilize industry coding guidelines along with specialized medical classification software to assign procedure codes for insurance billing
• Utilize industry coding guidelines along with specialized medical classification software to assign diagnosis codes for insurance billing

Position Requirements Include:

• AHIMA credentialed - CCS and/or RHIT/RHIA required OR AAPC credentialed CPC or COC (formerly CPC-H) required
• Minimum of two years of hospital outpatient coding experience coding in ICD and CPT
• Satisfactory completion of e4 ICD-10-CM test - 85 or above on CM
• Demonstration of successful completion of ICD-10-CM coursework
• Solid knowledge of hospital outpatient documentation, charging, and coding workflows and terminology
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
