Job Summary

A non-profit healthcare provider is filling a position for a Remote Outpatient Special Coder in Milwaukee.

Must be able to:

• Assign codes
• Abstract outpatient complex/specialty cases and diagnoses
• Sequence diagnoses and procedure codes

Required Skills:

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field
• Coding Specialist (CCS) certification issued by the AHIMA
• Other certifications required by the employer
• 3 years of experience in coding in an acute health care environment.
• Knowledge of NCCI edits and local and national coverage decisions.
• Expert knowledge of ICD and CPT coding systems, G-codes, HCPCS codes, etc
