Job Summary
A healthcare company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Outpatient Specialty Coder in Milwaukee.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Assigning codes and abstracting outpatient complex/specialty cases
- Sequencing diagnoses and procedure codes
- Reviewing all provider documentation
Skills and Requirements Include:
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 3 years of experience in coding in an acute health care environment
- Demonstrates knowledge of NCCI edits and local and national coverage decisions
- Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding systems, G-codes, HCPCS codes and CPT modifiers
- Knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pathophysiology
- Knowledge of pharmacology indications for drug usage and related adverse reactions
