Job Summary
A consulting firm has an open position for a Remote Pathology Coder.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Enter data into client software and/or Excel reports
- Provide written feedback of coding results
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and standards related to health information and coding principles
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience abstract coding CPT, E&M, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes from medical records for facility and profee Pathology
- Experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool
- Advanced technical knowledge in e/m clinic coding, facility coding, minor procedures, and surgeries for Pathology
