Remote Patient Access Authorization Representative

Job Summary

To support Patient Access Services, the full-time Remote Patient Access Authorization Representative will perform insurance verification and authorization functions, ensuring compliance with department standards while working independently in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately complete authorization initiation requests and validate existing authorizations for all service lines
• Provide necessary authorization numbers and patient demographic information to staff, while documenting all referral activity
• Obtain authorizations for tests and procedures, staying current on payor requirements and utilizing third-party authorization submission software

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED is required
• A minimum of three years of experience in healthcare insurance and/or authorizations
• Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD codes
• Advanced abilities in common office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
