Remote Patient Access Authorization Representative

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Patient Access Services Authorization Representative will manage insurance verification and authorization functions, ensuring compliance with billing requirements and reducing authorization-related denials.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately complete authorization initiation requests and validate existing authorizations for all service lines
• Provide necessary information regarding authorization numbers and patient demographics to staff, and document all referral activity
• Respond to provider orders for tests and procedures, obtaining necessary authorizations and staying current on payer requirements

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare insurance and/or authorizations
• Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD codes
• Advanced abilities in common office software, including word processing and spreadsheets
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
