Remote Patient Accounts Financial Specialist

Job Summary

A nonprofit healthcare organization is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote Patient Accounts Financial Specialist.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Apprising patient of balance due and collection of same
• Being responsible for timely and effective self-pay collection of all patient receivables
• Providing information and coaching to patients regarding their rights under the 2008 Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years' experience in self pay collections
• Minimum 1 year experience in billing and insurance follow-up
• Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-9-CM, HCPCS and CPT coding
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills
