Job Summary
A nonprofit healthcare organization is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote Patient Accounts Financial Specialist.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Apprising patient of balance due and collection of same
- Being responsible for timely and effective self-pay collection of all patient receivables
- Providing information and coaching to patients regarding their rights under the 2008 Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in self pay collections
- Minimum 1 year experience in billing and insurance follow-up
- Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting
- Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-9-CM, HCPCS and CPT coding
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills
