Job Summary
A non-profit organization needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Policy Advisor.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Reviewing legislation, researching policy implications, and providing recommendations
- Staying abreast of current events and political developments
- Lobbying at the local, state and federal levels
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Willingness to travel about 20 percent of work time
- Over two years’ government affairs or public policy experience
- Strong research and analytical skills that include keen attention to detail
- Ability to distill complicated bills, regulations, and information into simple, compelling recommendations
- Creative, solution-oriented, outside-the-box thinking to achieve incremental change
- Knowledge of state and federal legislative processes and ideally federal regulatory processes
