Job Summary
An online media company is filling a position for a Remote Political News Reporter and Writer.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Writing original news articles, ranging in length from 300 words to more than 1,000 words
- Capturing photos of interview subjects or relevant imagery to file with stories
- Developing sources in regulatory agencies, and connections on and off Capitol Hill
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- B.A. in journalism or related field
- 3+ years experience in journalism, including 2+ years reporting on Congress
- Mastery of journalism principles and techniques and AP style
- Experience covering regulatory agencies, Congress and/or policy issues
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely
- Experience working with social media networks
