Job Summary
A human capital management software company is filling a position for a Remote Principal Database Administrator.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Designing, installing, monitoring, maintaining, and performance tuning production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software
- Influencing, educating and mentoring other more junior members of the team as well as effectively working across other levels of the organization as a champion of the DBA function and best practices
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
- 6 or more years of experience in database administration in high OLTP environment
- 6 or more years of experience and proficient working knowledge of Microsoft SQL servers (2008, 2012, 2014+ versions)
- 6 or more years of experience in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL server
- 5 or more years of experience with business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) plans and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO)
- 5 or more years of experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
