Job Summary

A cloud-based computing software firm is in need of a Remote Principal Python and Java Software Engineer in New York City.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Keeping up to date on emerging technology solutions that impact the data and cloud computing domains, in particular on AWS
• Taking the lead on the development of new systems that handle the processing of billions of data points
• Collaborating cross-functionally with data engineering, product management, and other engineering groups

Qualifications Include:

• 10+ years of hands-on, directly relevant, software development experience
• Experience designing cloud-first solutions with AWS technologies
• Proven experience building products in Big Data and distributed computing
• Experience working in an agile environment on enterprise products
• College degree in Computer Science, Math, Systems Engineering, or a similar technical field
• Technically proficient in: Java / Scala, Python, Spark/EMR, Relational Databases / SQL, Linux, Containerization
