Job Summary

A social media company is seeking a Remote Product Legal Counsel.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Help build scalable and effective processes for providing legal input to clients on strategic product initiatives
  • Work collaboratively across multiple functions, including Product, Engineering, Trust & Safety, Policy, and Communications
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant U.S. and international laws and regulations, especially those related to content regulation and copyright

Skills and Requirements Include:

  • 5 - 10 years legal experience, with a deep understanding of current and emerging copyright, intermediary liability, and content regulation laws (e.g., DMCA, EU Copyright Directive)
  • Solution-oriented, customer service, and growth mindset - you welcome diverse perspectives and engage problems with curiosity
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a succinct and impactful manner
  • Ability to integrate into cross-functional teams with a cooperative and participatory approach
