Remote Reference Librarian

Job Summary

Providing virtual reference services, the part-time Remote Reference Librarian will assist learners, faculty, and staff in utilizing library resources, while promoting effective library services and maintaining instructional materials.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver reference and research services to users through various communication channels, assessing their information needs
• Update and maintain library instruction resources and team training materials
• Participate in professional development and team collaboration efforts while attending scheduled meetings with supervisors

Required qualifications

• Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) or Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited institution
• One to three years of relevant reference librarian experience in an academic library preferred
• Experience working with adult learners and delivering reference services to diverse populations
• Strong knowledge of library research and online searching techniques
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required
