Remote Research Assistant

Job Summary

To support conflict analysis initiatives, the remote Mozambique Research Assistant will contribute to original outputs, assist with data analysis and visualization, and prepare expert commentary under the guidance of the Southeast Africa Senior Analyst.

Key responsibilities

• Co-author original analytical outputs focusing on Mozambique, particularly for the Mozambique Conflict Monitor
• Assist with data analysis, visualization, and literature review relevant to analysis projects
• Prepare expert commentary and content for external stakeholders and support data-related inquiries

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, Geography, Conflict Studies, or relevant fields; Master's degree preferred
• Experience in conflict analysis and knowledge of politics and conflict in Mozambique
• Familiarity with ACLED data and knowledge of data analysis software such as Tableau is a plus
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of Portuguese is a plus
• Strong writing skills and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines
