We're looking to add a Ruby on Rails developer to our elite Special Projects team here at eXp. As a major disruptive force in the real estate brokerage world, we're growing faster than anyone else in the industry. Combined with being a fully remote and virtually located company, that creates lots of technical challenges and opportunities. As a company, we can do things that others can't and our team is tasked with making a lot of that technically possible.
Our team moves quickly and nimbly. We deliver scalable software, working on a few different projects in a given day. Ruby is new here so you'll be joining a very exciting, small team within a larger dev org with the opportunity to grow.
What we're looking for:
5+ years of ruby on rails experience
Almost as good with JS (React, Node, etc)
Someone who loves Docker
Experience with serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, ideally)
Creative problem solver
Have a positive outlook and patient with occasional meetings with non-technical team members
Experience with enterprise software as a service at scale
Autonomous and self-starting while also being a great team player
Very comfortable with short timelines - knows how to make acceptable compromises
Great communicator - we're remote so it's key to clearly communicate
Passionate about improvement - yourself and our tech

What you would be doing:
You'll be working remotely for the fastest-growing company in the real estate brokerage space. With international expansion in progress, there are quite a few pressing projects and opportunities to take advantage of market shifts and that's where our small team comes in. You'll be working alongside the team leader to commit code and deploy daily on our most exciting and sometimes disruptive projects. You'll be interacting with our in-house QA, devops and product teams as well as business leaders from the various departments within the company. Some of the meetings will even be in our proprietary VR world!
