Job Summary

An insurance technology company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Senior Database Reliability Engineer.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Providing self-service Databases as a Service using AWS RDS (PostgreSQL) to product engineering teams
• Building and improving the data layer reliability, security and performance for the company’s technology platform
• Providing observability and insights into the company's Postgres databases and make sure it reaches its SLO targets

Required Skills:

• Expertise in managing datastores (primarily Postgres) in a cloud environment (AWS)
• Deep domain knowledge of Postgres
• Experience with infrastructure as code tooling (Terraform)
• Ability to code in a modern high-level programming language (Python, Ruby, Go, Typescript, etc)
• Strong passion to understand, learn, and evaluate new technologies
• Must have exceptional analytical skills and strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
