Job Summary
A health insurance provider is in need of a Remote Senior Group Underwriting Consultant.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Improving MLR on Fully Insured Assigned Groups
- Maintaining High Persistency for Assigned Groups and achieve standards for new business close ratio
- Preparing and delivering presentations for Corporate Officers to facilitate financial education of underwriting
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
- 6+ years Group Underwriting in Healthcare Industry experience or transferable experience and education
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal statutes and regulations and underwriting philosophy
- Knowledge and ability to modify or develop new procedures to meet specialized need
- Ability to interpret and analyze medical and other underwriting data, conceive or conduct independent investigations
- Process and technical proficiency of various underwriting systems and support enewal processes
