Job Summary
A nonprofit healthcare system needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Senior Inpatient Hospital Coder in New Orleans.
Must be able to:
- Review and accurately code and abstract the most complex hospital services
- Utilize appropriate coding guidelines to assign ICD and CPT codes
- Work in collaboration with the Clinical Documentation Improvement team
Position Requirements Include:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years coding experience
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, and coding principals
