What's the project?
General:
Gun.io has been asked to source for a hands on iOS Tech Lead for a company has large scooters that hold both a driver and passenger and costs 30% less than typical car ride sharing. They'll be launching in California USA soon.
This is a hands on role both leading junior iOS developers and contributing to the code base. The current state of the app is that while they do have a basic existing iOS driver and rider application for ride sharing, is was written using view-controllers. They need help rebuilding the application to be more scalable and get the app live.
Geography: Client is located in Los Angeles. The development team you'd be working with is based out of NYC and LA. Therefore, preference will be given to candidates who live and work within GMT -4 to -8 time zones.
Work Schedule & Duration: Full time (40 hours/week) for 3-4 months.
Start: Immediate start.
What's the process?
In keeping with our promise to only provide elite Professional Freelancers, Gun.io's vetting process is stringent and includes: a code challenge, credential check, three 30-minute interviews, and live reference checks. However, you will only need to complete that vetting process for your first Gun.io project. Afterwards, you'll have the opportunity to seamlessly move on and off freelance projects.

Must-have experience
Swift (3+ years)
8+ years overall software development experience
Experience leading a team of junior iOS developers. Distributed team experience a strong plus.
Full iOS app life cycle experience (concept to app store approvals and beyond)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Nice-to-have experience
Transit app experience (For example: Lyft or Uber, Grab or Gocheck experience could be useful). Please mention this in your application.
