Job Summary

A journalism company has a current position open for a Remote Senior Multimedia Software Engineer in New York City.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

  • Working in Node.js, Go to build features for and maintain both our video on demand and live video services
  • Helping develop a technical vision for the team, and lead the engineers in implementing that vision
  • Advising engineering management on assessing technical complexity and resourcing needs

Qualifications for this position include:

  • At least five years of professional experience working with current web and media technologies
  • Fluent in Go (or relevant backend language) + Node.js
  • Experience building on public cloud platform services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Knowledge of software principles, application architecture, data structures, coding conventions, testing frameworks and security
