Job Summary

A full service IT company has a current position open for a Remote Senior Professional DB2 Systems Programmer.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting and possibly leading in the conversion of associated DB2 products from one vendor solution to another
  • Maintaining the DB2 subsystems procs/JCL, executing backups of DB2 system catalogue and directory files with reorgs, and performing basic change management functions
  • Installing, upgrading DB2 subsystems

Position Requirements Include:

  • Ability to provide 24/7 on call support may be requested during critical projects
  • 7+ years’ experience as a Systems Engineer/Programmer with examples of DB2 expertise
  • Proven understanding of basic parameters contained in DSNZPARM and their usage
  • Demonstrated experience with restoring service and problem resolution through troubleshooting and corrective/preventive actions
  • Experience having managed activities involving the coordination of multiple technical resources and groups
  • Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery (backup and restore, DR plan creation and maintenance)
