Job Summary

An information technology and professional services company has an open position for a Remote Senior Systems Administrator.

Must be able to:

  • Evaluate functional requirements, and upgrade requests, and provide comments to ensure appropriate direction to program managers and development team
  • Assist database administrators (DBA) interactively on installing and upgrading software and monitor cluster operations
  • Support administration of platform support services using the software provided by the hosting vendor

Position Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Containers or Logical Domain (LDOM) technology, HP-UX Virtual Manager (VM)/HP Datacenter OE and VMware for Red Hat Linux.
  • Knowledge of Symantec Netbackup 6.5; Brocade switches; and planning architecture related to DR/COOP
  • Experience supporting software/system related changes; identification and resolution of software bugs, research and application changes, updates, and patches;
  • Demonstrated expertise with Oracle/SUN Solaris 10 or higher, HP-UX 11 or higher, Red Hat Linux 5 or higher operating systems that include creating Solaris virtual servers using Solaris ZONES
