Job Summary
A software development company is seeking a Remote Sensing Specialist.
Must be able to:
- Implement the remote sensing methodologies for grasslands projects and forestry projects
- Analyze satellite image data, using statistical analysis and machine learning using Geographic Information Systems
- Document and develop results from both basic and applied scientific and technical research for use in monitoring reports
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Demonstrated experience in GIS and/or remote sensing, with preferred experience planning or managing GIS projects
- Proficiency in Python, or in another scientific programming language, with the ability to quickly pick up new technical skills
- Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to research, develop & implement solutions to novel problems
- Expertise with machine learning and spatial interpolation algorithms used in geospatial analyses
- Experience planning and managing GIS projects in agriculture and/or conservation
