Job Summary
An insurance and benefits provider has a current position open for a Remote Short Term Disability Benefit Specialist Trainee.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Developing skills to manage a large volume of claims; ensuring appropriate sign offs are obtained
- Developing an understanding and working knowledge of the company's products, policies/procedures and contracts
- Developing an understanding of the applicable contract/policy definitions and relevant provisions, clauses, exclusions, riders and waivers
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Customer service / decision making experience and/or College experience
- Ability to utilize claim evaluation techniques to identify and evaluate claim information in a timely, fair and objective manner
- Detail oriented; ability to analyze and research contract information
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidence to make fair and appropriate decisions
- Demonstrated ability to operate with a sense of urgency and make balanced decisions with the highest degree of integrity
