Job Summary
A company is looking for a Remote Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for deaf and hard of hearing students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time sign language interpretation for virtual classes and meetings
- Support educational goals by facilitating effective communication with teachers and staff
- Collaborate with special education teams to meet communication access needs
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpretation or related field
- Must hold a current professional SLI certification valid in the state or be eligible for certification
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of interpreting protocols
- Familiarity with virtual platforms used in educational settings
