Job Summary

Providing effective telephonic interpretation, the Remote Sinhala Interpreter will manage inbound calls on demand, facilitating communication for the Limited English Proficient community while adhering to professional standards in a remote, independent contractor role.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting services
• Answer inbound calls in a timely manner while ensuring superior customer service
• Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct and industry-specific best practices

Required qualifications

• Full fluency in both English and Sinhala
• Proficiency with technology, including web-based platforms and Microsoft Word
• Access to a quiet and secure interpreting space
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred
• Industry-specific certifications or training preferred (e.g., CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap)
