Job Summary

A private, nonprofit, liberal arts university has an open position for a Remote Social and Multicultural Foundations of Counseling Adjunct Instructor.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Creating and maintaining a positive team environment
  • Teaching with a professional level of preparedness for the duration of the semester
  • Engaging in weekly online contact with students using a variety of online assignments, including posts, videos, formal papers, and check-ins

Required Skills:

  • A master’s degree in Counseling or a related mental health field or master’s degree in a field relevant to cultural studies, gender and/or sexuality studies, race studies
  • At least 18 credits of post-graduate coursework relevant to social justice, cultural humility, multicultural counseling and related subjects
  • The ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally
  • Significant teaching experience including lecture, facilitating discussion, and experiential exercises
  • The ability to demonstrate course content area knowledge and understanding of its application in counseling
  • Familiarity with transpersonal psychology, mindfulness approaches and contemplative education
