Job Summary
A non-profit national newspaper needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Social Media Editor.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Keeping in daily communication with National Catholic Reporter and Global Sisters Report managing editors and EarthBeat editor to prioritize and plan social media content
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy, accountability and integrity
- Working with the editors on higher-level social media and other engagement strategizing, such as growing international audiences for Global Sisters Report and EarthBeat and younger, more diverse audiences for all three publications
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- At least three years of experience managing social media accounts for media outlets, including scheduling posts and engaging with replies and comments, to develop a voice across publications and elevate brand awareness
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and Slack
- Experience with Youtube and Canva is a plus
- An appreciation for the National Catholic Reporter Publishing Company's mission. Working knowledge of the Catholic Church and its culture is a plus
- Comfortable multi-tasking and working both independently and as part of multiple departments
