Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Databricks Migration Engineer, the contract Remote Software Developer III will lead the migration from legacy SQL Server to Databricks Lakehouse, design ETL frameworks, and optimize data performance for a Federal Government client.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the technical migration from legacy SQL Server stored procedures and ADF pipelines to Databricks Lakehouse
- Design robust ETL/ELT frameworks using PySpark and Databricks Workflows
- Define and enforce governance standards for data security and cluster management
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years in data engineering or related roles with experience in cloud platforms
- 1+ year leading complex data projects, specifically with Databricks Lakehouse and Apache Spark
- US Citizenship with residency in the US for the last 5 years
- Proficiency in SQL and Python/PySpark for data manipulation
