VirBELA is seeking individuals who are mature, inquisitive, reliable, self-directed, and interested in developing virtual worlds, simulations, and computer games in a rapidly growing business. As a Product Manager at VirBELA you will be working on a cross-disciplinary team that includes organizational psychologists, corporate leaders, virtual world specialists, and domain experts.


Our ideal candidate will have expert knowledge in software systems engineering and design in areas relevant to the development of virtual world platforms. This can include experience in software development for games, simulations, or other multi-modal platforms.

General Summary:

The Product Manager is responsible for helping manage our product development by coordinating communications and project development goals with software developers, sales and marketing teams, art asset creators, and business strategy goals. This includes keeping an overview of project development timelines, working with the leads in each area to set and assign individual tasks, track and revise task completion, and help to scope effort of product development tasks.

You will work closely with management, technical development, business development, marketing, support, and other teams to ensure proper organizational alignment.

You should understand market and client needs and know how to balance those needs against the organization's capacity to deliver. You will constantly evaluate the changing landscape in order to keep our product lines moving in a positive direction. You listen to the various interests involved to understand problems and work with to find a solution that solves those problems.

Your focus will be:
1) Communicate development priorities as needed across the company.
2) Keep track of product requirements and use scenarios and stories
3) Organize and track development tasks for internal development team
4) Maintaining strong relationships with clients
5) Coordinate with development partners

Key success metrics will be:
1) Increased productivity of the development team
2) Improvements in product features
3) Improved communications across different company task groups
4) Better tracking of individual workloads and productivity levels


Major Duties & Responsibilities::
Daily coordination of developer activities
Communications as needed with clients on product needs
Coordinate across the company on product development
Prioritize and maintain a backlog to continuously improve product line(s)
Communicate plans and releases across the company
Act as subject matter expert internally and with clients for your product line(s)

Specific responsibilities include:
Voice of the market
Systematically capture, manage and prioritize requests from agents and/or staff
Document and communicate business problems, use scenarios, user personas and user stories to the development team and/or development partners
Collaborate with development to ensure they understand how success will be measured
Develop, maintain and communicate the product vision and roadmap across the organization

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Education:
BA or BS in a field with significant computational coursework.
Experience:
3+ years of driving successful products to market in product management or similar role
Solid understanding of application development lifecycles and processes including agile product delivery
Demonstrated experience in communicating with large groups in person and online
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish instant rapport
Strong organizational and process management skills
Able to articulate complex concepts in a meaningful and understandable way
High degree of creativity and problem-solving ability
Able to set and manage priorities
Able to define and achieve objectives
Strong presentation skills with mixed audiences (business to technical)
Ability to gather and document business and user requirements through direct interviews, surveys, and secondary research.
