Remote State and Local Tax Manager

Job Summary

An accounting and consulting firm is filling a position for a Remote SALT Manager.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing state and local tax filings as directed by the engagement leader
• Researching state and local tax matters, documenting issues, analysis and conclusions
• Participating in voluntary disclosure, nexus review, technical research, exposure quantification, audit defense, ASC 450 reviews, and similar projects

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting for closely related field from accredited college or university
• 5-6+ years of related experience
• Experience with multi-state taxes from consulting or tax audit background
• CPA, CMI, JD, or LLM preferred with ability to sit for CPA or pursue Masters of Tax a plus
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and tax research tools
• Ability to identify state tax development impacting firm clients
