Job Summary

A staffing agency has a current position open for a Remote Structural Analysis Stress Engineer in Greenbelt.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing stress and fracture analysis of spacecraft structural components to support a NASA Space Observatory Telescope
  • Creating FEM's (Finite Element Models)
  • Establishing structural stress and their dynamic response under flight environments

Qualifications for this position include:

  • BSME (Mechanical), BSAE (Aerospace) or related Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university is required
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in the analysis of mechanical systems and components at conceptual and detail design levels
  • Must have experience with NASTRAN and FEMAP. PATRAN experience will be considered
  • Experience in FEA (Finite Element Analysis) with NASTRAN/FEMAP software and hand stress analysis
  • Experience using FEMAP or PATRAN pre and post-processing software
