Remote Structural Simulation Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a flexible contract basis, the Remote Structural Simulation Engineer will develop and run CFD simulations using OpenFOAM and execute nonlinear structural analysis models with OpenSees, contributing to advanced modeling and analysis projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and run CFD simulations for fluid flow and multiphysics problems using OpenFOAM
• Build and execute nonlinear structural and seismic analysis models using OpenSees for structural systems
• Validate simulation results against experimental data and document methodologies for stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, or a closely related field (B.Sc. minimum; M.Sc. or Ph.D. preferred)
• Demonstrated proficiency with OpenFOAM and/or OpenSees for engineering applications
• Strong understanding of continuum mechanics and finite element methods
• Experience with Linux environments and scripting (Python, Bash, or Tcl)
• Ability to interpret simulation results and produce well-organized technical documentation
